Air India and Vistara are set to merge on November 12, 2024, integrating their frequent flyer programs, Club Vistara and Flying Returns.

According to The New York Post, citing The Daily Mail, American Airlines flight 281 turned around five hours into its journey from Dallas, Texas, to Seoul, South Korea on September 7. A passenger on board the flight uploaded a now-viral video to Instagram, in which she commented on the unexpected U-turn.

The transition also affects loyalty programmes, with Club Vistara members needing to link their accounts to Air India’s Flying Returns for the smooth transfer of points, perks, and elite statuses. "Members will benefit from a broader network and enhanced services under Flying Returns.
