Planned Parenthood of Illinois is bringing procedural abortions to its recently reopened Peoria clinic, marking the first time in five years they have been performed locally.

Peoria's Planned Parenthood location will now offer procedural abortions after a firebombing attack on the building last year shuttered its operations. The clinic reopened in May after undergoing extensive renovations after the January 2023 attack that caused over $1 million in damages.

Less than two years after a firebombing destoryed a Planned Parenthood clinic in North Peoria, the center is now offering expanded abortion services. According to a news release from the state chapter,

In a press release Monday, the Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL) said the group expanded access to abortion by allowing procedural abortion care at the newly renovated Peoria Health Center, located at 2709 W. Knoxville Ave.
