In the release announcing its Watch Series 10’s availability, Apple refers to the device’s “refined” design. It’s an accurate word for the device overall.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is here, and it brings with it a host of subtle changes, from a larger screen to a thinner case (that still packs in more features than previous generations). But it also costs $150 more than Apple's entry-level Apple Watch SE, so what do you get for that extra dough?

The embiggening of the Apple Watch is nothing new. The original Apple Watch measured 38mm and 42mm. The Series 4 bumped that up to 40mm and 44mm. The Series 7 made it 41mm and 45mm. Today, the Series 10 measures 42mm and 46mm. Normally, I rail against the trend toward larger watches, but the Series 10’s display is worth every millimeter.

Series 10 has the largest display of any Apple Watch to date, even bigger than the first Ultra. With up to 30 percent more screen area than Series 4, 5, and 6, and up to a whopping 75 percent more than Series 3, this is a game-changer for productivity and accessibility.
