Phillip Schofield's new series Cast Away will see the presenter reflect on his affair with a male colleague and his decision to come out as gay.

The presenter was one of the UK's most well-known TV faces, until a secret affair with a young researcher was revealed.

Phillip Schofield has said his sexual orientation made the repercussions of his This Morning affair scandal worse. The former presenter, 62, left ITV last May after he admitted he had lied about having a “consensual on-off relationship” with a younger man, which took place while Schofield was still married to his wife Stephanie Lowe.

However, on the fourth day on the small island of Nosy Ankarea, off the coast of Madagascar, Schofield claims he was "chucked under a bus", and added that he could do the same to others, but he is "not that sort of person".
