Mark Selby is scrapping through tight games at the British Open, despite former world champion Ken Doherty saying it is clear he is struggling for confidence. The Jester from Leicester beat Pang Junxu 4-3 on the final black in his opening game in Cheltenham and then edged past Yuan Sijun in a decider in round three on Wednesday night.

Selby overcame Mark Allen 6-3 in a tight semi-final clash to book his spot in the final for the second consecutive year. The world No. 5 was beaten by Mark Williams in the 2023 final but heads into this afternoon's event in good form and will be hopeful that he can land the title for the first time in his career.
