UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka, who has helped lead the team to a surprising 3-0 start to the campaign, has announced that he will be sitting out the rest of the season. He plans to redshirt, retain the year of eligibility and transfer.

Mike Palm, the VP of Operations for Circa, the D, and Golden Gate Casinos in Downtown Las Vegas, offered $100,000 in NIL money to keep Sluka on the team after the quarterback quit this week in the wake of not receiving the $100,000 he said had been promised by a UNLV assistant coach.
