Some shelves are looking bare inside Stop & Shop grocery stores as the chain's parent company continues to grapple with a cybersecurity issue. Officials at Ahold Delhaize USA, the parent company of both Shop & Shop and Hannaford,

On Friday the parent company of Stop & Shop, Ahold Delhaize, released a statement that said an investigation is being conducted after a recent cybersecurity issue within its U.S. network. Their security team along with outside cybersecurity experts are working to detect the issue and take steps to further protect their systems.

Kaitlyn Krasselt, a spokeswoman for the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection which regulates pharmacies in the state, said the agency was aware of delays in processing prescriptions at Stop & Shop pharmacies last Friday, but that the backlog has since been resolved.
