Days of torrential rain in North Carolina culminating with tropical downpours from what was Hurricane Helene have officials keeping a close eye on a major dam

Dozens of deaths have been reported across the southeastern U.S., including three in North Carolina. The worst of Helene has passed through the Triad. Our meteorologists say the threat of severe weather is over, but rain could still be possible as we move into the afternoon and evening.
