Two people were killed when a tornado touched down overnight in Middle Georgia during Hurricane Helene, emergency management officials told news outlets.

Hurricane Helene isn’t only expected to damage homes and vehicles; it has already resulted in at least 15 deaths and one injury, with more fatalities and injuries anticipated.

Hurricane Helene has intensified to a potentially catastrophic Category 4 storm, according to the the National Hurricane Center. The storm will soon make landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast near Apalachicola.
