ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) – In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Christmas Eve fire in Elyria has left a community in mourning. The blaze, which erupted on Brandston Avenue, has been confirmed as accidental, but it resulted in the tragic loss of 29-year-old Watu Brown from Columbia Station.

A Harris County man is dead and his partner suffering from severe injuries after a tragic crash caused their vehicle to catch on fire on Christmas Eve near Humble. FOX 26's Sherman Desselle spoke exclusively to the couple's son about how the family is dealing with this devastating incident.

A man, also in his 80s, who was driving the car in which the woman was travelling, was also seriously injured.

North Yorkshire Police are investigating following the crash, which happened at 8.30pm on Christmas Day on the nortbound carriageway of the A1(M), between junction 57 at the A66(M) and junction 58 at Merrybent.
