Special prosecutor Hank Brennan filed the motion Friday for Janet Read’s Dec. 30, 2021, to Jan. 30, 2022, phone records. In a separate motion filed last month, he sought Karen Read’s father, William Read’s phone records from the same time period.

Prosecutors said Read’s phone records indicate she called her mother three times in the hours before John O’Keefe's body was found, at 1:14 a.m., 4:38 a.m., and 4:42 a.m.

Karen Read is accused of killing John O’Keefe by striking him with her SUV and leaving him to die in the snow after a night of drinking.

Karen Read prosecutors have added ABC and NBC to the list of media outlets they are requesting information from as they prepare for her 2nd trial.

Brennan filed a motion seeking William Read‘s phone records from the night O‘Keefe died. In a response motion, Read’s lawyers call the request a “fishing expedition” and said prosecutors already have records of calls between Kareen Read and her father from her phone.
