As of now, there are no signs that [the Ukrainian ArmedForces] are being pushed back, or that there’s a significant counterattack from the enemy. There is also no longer the pace of advances we saw earlier.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have noted that the Ukrainian military was able to take advantage of the situation to launch an offensive in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, despite the fact that Russia knew about this and prepared for the Ukrainian operation for months.

A total of 162 combat clashes have occurred on the battlefield over the past day, with the Russians continuing to actively assault the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove fronts, where a total of 63 Russian attacks took place.

The village is 20 miles west of the main Ukrainian salient in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. Six weeks ago, a powerful Ukrainian force—around a dozen battalions from eight or so experienced brigades—invaded Kursk and quickly gained control of 400 square miles of Russian soil.

Following a failed Russian counteroffensive in the Kursk Oblast , the initiative has once again shifted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yevhen Dykyi, a veteran of the Russia-Ukraine war, former commander of the Aidar Battalion stated in an interview with Radio NV.

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian military exploited the situation for an offensive in the Kursk region, despite Russia knowing and preparing for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operations for months.

The Russians launched five missile strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using six missiles and conducted 73 airstrikes, using 108 guided bombs, on Friday, 20 September. They also dropped another 25 guided bombs on their own Kursk Oblast.
