A father who sent his 17-year-old son to kill rapper PnB Rock has been sentenced to 31 years to life in prison. PnB, real name Rakim Hasheem Allen, was shot dead in front of his girlfriend inside a Los Angeles Waffle House by a masked gunman.

UPDATED, 1:25 PM: Freddie Lee Trone, 42, has been sentenced to 31 years to life for the 2022 shooting death of PnB Rock. He was convicted last month in the robbery and murder of the rapper (real name Rakim Allen) at a South Los Angeles restaurant, after sending his teenage son to rob the victim.

The judge noted that Freddie Lee Trone was “not the shooter,” but said that “does not mean that you’re not accountable.”

On Monday, Sept. 23, L.A. Superior Court Judge Connie Quinones sentenced Freddie Lee Trone, 42, to 31 years to life in prison, per a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
