Marvel has not officially confirmed that a third film is in the works, but Washington, speaking to Australia's 'Today' show, says that the director is crafting a role for him.

November 22 will be a massive day for Denzel Washington. His role in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” has thrust him into the heart of the Oscar race for Best Supporting Actor, and the film opens in theaters on the same day his son Malcolm Washington’s “The Piano Lesson,” which he produced, streams on Netflix.

For now, Washington reunites with Ridley Scott on Gladiator 2. The pair previously worked together on American Gangster. This year Denzel also re-teamed with his longtime collaborator Spike Lee on High and Low, an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller. The film is set up at A24.
